Food First® to Fuel Your Spark


Emily Mardell is a Registered Dietitian and behaviour-change coach, and, simply put, a true food fan.

Her passion for food, nutrition and education lead her to found Food First Nutrition Consulting and GetJoyfull. Emily is dedicated to providing expert, innovative, client-centered services that foster improved health, fitness and performance.

You can’t out-train your fork. While exercise keeps you accountable it’s a healthy eating plan that ultimately fuels function, fitness and performance.


Our nutrition programming combines behaviour-change principles, easy-to-follow meal plans and results-based counselling to optimize your success.


Our IGNITE challenge package only runs a couple of times a year so now is the time to start! Our next challenge begins January 30.

Single Nutrition Session
Spark Members $99

This service is ideal for members who are seeking a single one-on-one nutrition consultation. Perhaps you have nutrition questions or would like a food journal review. Maybe you have a food allergy or intolerance and need advice to optimize your eating pattern. Perhaps you’ve successfully completed an IGNITE Challenge and now want ongoing counselling. Maybe you have a competition, tournament or upcoming event and need specialized advice on how to achieve peak performance. You name it – we’re here to help.

During this 60-minute one-on-one session collaborate with Registered Dietitian & behaviour-change coach, Emily Mardell to learn, problem-solve and action plan.


Challenge Nutrition Program (4 weeks/28 days)
Spark Members $199

This 4-week package is for members enrolled in the IGNITE Challenge. Participants receive a basic nutrition plan to ignite transformation and support weight, fitness and performance goals. Members thrive as the guesswork of what to eat and when is eliminated. Challenge participants fuel one-another and success is earned in a supportive, energizing, team environment. Registered Dietitian & behaviour-change coach, Emily Mardell is on-site at least twice during the challenge offering drop-in “mini consults” & nutrition counselling support.

This 6-week package is for members seeking a custom nutrition plan to achieve their specific weight, fitness and performance goals. Throughout the program members receive structured support, coaching and accountability management from Registered Dietitian & behaviour-change counselor, Emily Mardell.

  • • Individualized nutrition (macro) Rx & meal planning worksheet
  • • 15-min collaborative custom meal planning session

  • • 15-min end-of-program consult with RD
